District nursing

The district nursing service provides skilled nursing care and support to adults in their own homes either because they are housebound or because there is a clinical need for that care to be delivered at home.  They aim to promote independence and self-management wherever possible, working in partnership with other health and social care providers. Treatment is discussed and planned with each individual and when treatment is completed patients are discharged from their service.

The district nursing service operates between 8am and 6:30pm every day of the year delivering mainly visits that have been planned in advance. They are not an emergency service and do not replace the medical services.

If you think you might be eligible for district nursing you can contact them on 01865 902006 and leave a message on the answer phone. They will return your call and discuss your needs. If you do not meet the criteria for this service they will endeavour to suggest an alternative contact if needed.
